Director Profile

Tsutomu Saito is a unique gallerist who combines over 20 years of business consulting experience with specialized knowledge from his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. While working as a consultant solving complex challenges for major corporations, he has developed a practice that questions and explores the value creation mechanisms in contemporary art.
His graduate research at Kyoto University of the Arts focused on “Value Creation in Contemporary Art.” Through extensive study of French contemporary artist Pierre Huyghe’s works, he has explored fundamental questions about what constitutes value in contemporary art and how meaning is generated in artistic practice.

Our Mission

Through contemporary art, we offer intellectual stimulation and sensory experiences unavailable in everyday life. What makes aaploit truly distinctive is our integration of analytical thinking cultivated in the business world with deep artistic sensitivity and critical perspective.

We believe that exceptional art offers essential questioning – not limited to art and business alone, but extending to how we perceive and understand the world. In our rapidly changing and complex contemporary moment, which harbors various distortions and makes essential challenges difficult to perceive, the inquiries posed by outstanding artworks serve as crucial tools for reexamining our worldview.

Gallery Experience

aaploit welcomes salon-style engagement. We believe that wonderful dialogues emerge from the experience of encountering artworks. Beyond serving as a space for art appreciation, we aspire to grow as a venue where meaningful conversations unfold and evolve.

We invite you to discover unexplored forms of artistic expression and engage in the critical questions they raise.
